Paul Ross
Paul is a retired Consulting Engineer, and graduated from Queen's in Civil
Engineering in 1962. Until 1994, he provided pipeline design, operation
and construction services internationally and in Canada. This experience
provided him with the necessary background to participate in corporate
utility audits for governments, banks and owners in such hard-to-take-places
as Rio de Janeiro, Dublin and Singapore, amongst others. Later, he provided
services in forensic investigation of fires and explosions and formed a
construction business to design and install specialty liners in deteriorated
pressurized pipeline systems.
He and his wife Shirley moved to Salem in 1986. Shirley worked for about 20 years in Personnel Administration and specialized in corporate compensation with manufacturers, municipalities and consulting firms. In 1993, she began a new career and started an upholstery business.
Today, Paul enjoys working in his metal and wood shops and tries to grow roses in Salem. In his spare time, he tries to train two seven month Boxer pups. Paul has three grown children and five grandchildren.
Of likely interest is that while working in Scotland in the winter of 1966,
he accidentally came across the Rosslyn Chapel a few miles south of Edinburgh;
its' beauty and mystery have stayed with him to this day.
